WARNING – There are some ever-so-mild spoilers about the Sex and the City movie below so don’t read if you don’t want to know!
My head is full of things knocking around to blog about – nothing of any great importance. I will at some point when I find the time to do it justice recount the white-trash shouting match that took place between myself, my dinner guests (aka my posse as referred to by my other nice neighbors) and my toolish, drunk pill-popping neighbor this past Saturday night. Said shouting match involved yelling, F bombs, references to south-side Chicago gangs and threats (made to me and my dogs mind you, not the other way) and was the culmination of the barking dog/Animal Control incident from Memorial Day weekend – I said right after that the visit from IACC was not the end of it and unfortunately I was right. More to come later on that. In the meantime, I have a couple of thoughts for the day. I’ve been ignoring My Favorite Things category for about forever but I just stumbled on something worth noting while doing some birthday shopping. Check out these fabulous sterling-silver Scrabble necklaces from Etsy:

In addition to a birthday gift for someone I might have to get one for myself!
My second observation is about The Bachelorette. I watched the most recent season of The Bachelor with Matt the tool from England and determined that not one person on there was genuine. What a refreshing discovery after 3 episodes into The Bachelorette that not only DeAnna is smart and refreshingly honest but she’s got a decent crop of guys on there and has for the most part weeded the tools out. 3 words for you: Graham. Is. Hot. This photo simply does not do his southern-drawled, sweet and innocent hotness justice.
Last observation is I saw Sex and the City (the movie..) over the weekend. I’m a huge fan – I can recite from any and all episodes and rewatched all 6 seasons over the last few months in preparation for the movie. I miss my girls so much so the 145 minutes of couture, boys and comedy was just what I needed. That all being said, I know they needed to wrap the movie up in the happy-ending package, but damn Carrie you should not have taken Big back! Seriously. It was so painful for me watching that part of the movie – the whole Carrie-Big wedding thing go down, and her anger, shock and grief – because it whisked me back to August of 2007. I did not get stood up at the alter, but I certainly related to being in shock and in the zombie, no-eating, staying in bed mode for several days after being betrayed last fall and the break-up. The scene where she is looking into the mirror in Mexico – I lived that same moment. One morning I was going through the motions of getting showered and dressed for work (motions that were difficult and pointless – don’t think I wore makeup or dried my hair for days) and was staring into the bathroom mirror and I could not see myself – all I saw were the empty eyes of a refugee. I am so glad I am way past all of that. Anyway, loved the movie but secretly wished Carrie had not gone back to Big – I think she sold out.

DAMMIT!!!
YOU GAVE AWAY THE ENDING!!!!
no reason for me to go see it now…
Cuz you were going to see it anyway? I gave nothing away!
